Quick Details Of Hepa Air Filter

Activated carbon filters are small pieces of carbon, typically in granular or powdered block form, that have been treated to be extremely porous. It is so cavernous, in fact, that just one gram of activated carbon can easily have a surface area of 500m2 or higher. Vast surface area enables these carbon filters to adsorb exponentially more contaminants and allergens than traditional carbon.
Adsorption is a distinct process where organic compounds in the air or water react chemically with the activated carbon, which causes them to stick to the filter. The more porous the activated carbon is, the more contaminants it will capture. These filters are most notably used to remove hazardous compounds in home air purification systems.

HEPA is a type of pleated mechanical air filter. It is an acronym for "high efficiency particulate air [filter]" (as officially defined by the U.S. Dept. of Energy). This type of air filter can theoretically remove at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria, and any airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns (µm). The diameter specification of 0.3 microns responds to the worst case; the most penetrating particle size (MPPS). Particles that are larger or smaller are trapped with even higher efficiency. Using the worst case particle size results in the worst case efficiency rating (i.e. 99.97% or better for all particle sizes).

All air cleaners require periodic cleaning and filter replacement to function properly. Follow manufacturer's recommendations on maintenance and replacement.

Ultra-HEPA filters or ULPA filters. These can trap up to 99.999 percent of particles 0.3 microns or smaller.
Electrostatic filters. These trap particles using a small static charge, which help the particles stick to the filter.
Electrostatic precipitators. These filters use metal plates or wires to attract particles with an opposite charge. They can often be washed and reused.
Ionization. These filters rely on a small charge that emit a magnetic-like attraction to particles in the air. This type of filtration may release ozone gases and could cause irritation for people with respiratory diseases.

Q: Why does my HEPA filter smell?

A: The simple understanding is that activated carbon is added to the ultra hepa air purifier. The activated carbon has a large surface area and strong adsorption capacity. It can also filter dust and particulate pollutants. It is the main reason for the bad sour smell of air purifier stinks.

Q: Are all HEPA filters the same?

A: These portable systems often contain essential filtration media such as a HEPA filter. However, not all "HEPA" filters are made the same and are often rated to capture particulate of varying micron sizes.

Classification Of Hepa Air Filters

Air filters are subdivided according to the current European classification G1-G4,F5-F9,H10-H14 and U15-U17. H grade is common in air purifiers, and this specification belongs to high efficiency or sub-high efficiency filter. H13 grade filter paper can achieve a total efficiency of 99.95%. The total efficiency of H14 grade HEPA filter paper can reach 99.995%.

About Hepa Air Filter

High efficiency particulate air Filter With an efficiency of 99.7 percent for 0.1 microns and 0.3 microns, the HEPA net is designed to allow air to pass through, but not fine particles.

It CAN REMOVE MORE THAN 99.97% OF PARTICLES with a diameter OF 0.3 micron (1/200 of the diameter of a hair), and is the most effective filter medium for pollutants such as smoke, dust and bacteria.
